Video transcript
Paul Hughes: My name is Paul Hughes. My primary function here at Aermec UK is as the finance manager. We are just a subsidiary of a much larger manufacturing brand out in Italy. Based in Verona, in Bevilacqua. Our primary function is HVAC air conditioning units.
Lara: I am Lara Musina-Butteriss. I'm a business support administrator. I work on the resources side and of course, being Italian is an asset, working for an Italian company.
Paul Hughes: When I was brought on, one of the functions was to look at our IT support.
(Q: What were the main issues you were having with your previous IT Support suppliers?)
Paul Hughes: The main issue that we had was the poor service that we were getting from them. We could wait up to five days at a time for resolutions to simple IT functions, albeit that their contracts said something different. They weren't overly staffed, so therefore a lot of what we did receive was slow and a lot of functioning was outsourced.
(Q: What were you looking for from your Managed Service Provide?)
Paul Hughes: We wanted a one size fits all, basically, for the company. We were in lease premises at the time when we onboarded with PS Tech, and it was primarily to support us with a managed service system as well as give recommendations for our hardware equipment.
(Q: What projects have you collaborated on together?)
Paul Hughes: By far, the biggest project that we've collaborated with PS Tech on is actually the delivery of our new premises here in Rochford Essex. Right from the word go, ensured that the Wi-Fi and the data cabling was all fit for purpose and future proofed. And, within our boardroom and our training, facilities, they have made sure we have got up to date screens and audio links, so that it is meeting ready, and we even go down to the littlest detail of, we have a Wi-Fi telly in the kitchen to please our staff when they have their breaks.
The Success is when we had our owners come over from Italy. This is the Riello family, so the top of our company. And they have turned around, and they were so impressed with the video/audio system that we've put in place here with the support of PS Tech, that they want to use that as a model going forward for all their other subsidiaries.
(Q: What were your expectations working with PS Tech?)
Paul Hughes: My expectations were quite high, of what I was hoping from PS Tech, and they more than actually met those on that first project; in that we moved, we changed over all of our hardware with minimal disruption to any services. We had our on-site support for a couple of days, and that's all they needed. They dealt with it. It was properly planned out when they were going to move over pieces of hardware between each member of staff, so that there was minimal disruption within the teams.
(Q: What's one story of success that wouldn't have been possible without the service from PS Tech?)
Paul Hughes: It was always our goal to own our own property here in the UK and actually bed down the roots of Aermec UK. We've not been able to achieve that without obviously the full support and backing of PS Tech.
(Q: What measurable results or improvements have you noticed since implementing our solutions?)
Paul Hughes: Positively the downtime is zero now. We are rarely without anything, any IT for any time whatsoever. Paul Stanyer and his team spent a lot of time sat down with me to decide the best way forward, best equipment possible for us before actually getting things in place. PS Tech and the whole team were well aware of what we wanted to achieve here. So it’s actually driven us on as a company to be IT stable. So the benefits been great for us. It’s just saved so much time.
(Q: How would you rate the level of communication and support provided by our team throughout our partnership?)
Paul Hughes: Throughout the partnership, the communication and support that I have received from PS Tech has always been, at the highest level. The communication between myself and PS Tech has always been very good, and we have quarterly reviews to see how we're going. And, Paul Stanyer, always makes sure that he's on that quarterly review to ensure that his company is delivering to the standards that we expect, and that he wants to deliver.
Lara: I got stuck a few times, with something very silly, probably. And the guys at PS Tech just helped me understand, setting up my computer again for instance. They have been just great, so it's just an asset, for me it's just an extra help that, you know, a big corporation and organisations need to have. The whole idea of having someone there, supporting you, I love that. It's very important right now I think. Also, with someone like me, I will say I'm not, again, I'm not great with IT, so it makes me feel a little bit more confident, I should say.
(Q: Why do you like partnering with PS Tech?)
Paul Hughes: I don’t think I’ve spoken to anyone in PS Tech that isn’t friendly or approachable or willing to go that extra mile for us. Their commitment to making sure that what you require as a company is delivered is second to none. I don’t think that they’ve ever missed the mark in what they’re delivering for us.
The fundamentals of my role is the finance manager here, so I will always be looking to save money. What I have got through PS Tech is very cost effective and it delivers well. Definitely five stars. I'd highly recommend them. Long may it continue.
