I'm Rebecca Newman-Smith from Ashton Care. Lucky enough to be the managing director. We work in the health and social care sector with specialisms mainly and predominantly in mental health.

(Q: What made you think ‘we need to change our IT setup’?)

As an SME and I know a number of directors or company owners can empathise with this. You wear many, many hats and there comes a point where you say, the more hats I'm wearing, the less opportunity we have to grow and do what we're here to do.

And that was a hat that given how technology's advancing, it was the most sensible hat to give up - the IT hat - rather than me dealing with all the systems. And we were really looking for someone that would give us the comfort that everything would be taken care of. The safety, the security, the patching, the policies, that we can lock devices remotely if we wanted to, that we can lock devices down in their day to day use.

(Q: How did you know PS Tech was right for the job?)

The patience and understanding with the questions we'd had. The way in which they answer them and anticipate some other things. The way that they listened as well. It's not like... you go to some companies and they're like, yeah, we'll price this, and then we'll price this whole list of things that you've not asked for and not really tell you why.

It wasn't really like that. It was okay, well, this is what I'm thinking. This is where I'd like to get to. And the case was okay. Yeah, that could work. You probably don't actually need to worry about that. This will be taken care of with that. And here are some other things that we've thought about. But this is why.

And this is why it may work for you or may not, why you may want it or may not. And I think that level of pragmatism, when you're not in the IT sector, when you are trying to trust someone and it just gives you that level of trust.

(Q: How easy is it to work with PS Tech?)

Some of them we've met and some of them we haven't, but you feel like you know them and you are reassured that they know your business and they will get to the bottom of things. I love the system that they have for tracking tickets, that you can do it either online or via email, and to keep track of what, you know, they are working on for you.

And I think it's nice that sometimes if we get a new starter, we can just email them and go, these are the requirements and they can take care of it. If we want updates that they can deal with it remotely. If we want changes to policies or to our mobile device management solutions, it's all taken care of. I do think they genuinely are caring people.

You know, people see like, IT as a bit obstructive or nerdy or hard to get on with or whatever negative connotations people put on it. They're really down to earth, relatable, and they've got a good sense of humour.

(Q: How has working with PS Tech impacted your business?)

It's allowed us to focus on what we're here to do, right? We're not an IT company, and it has been a really important part of our infrastructure in our growth. And to have the confidence that you're buying the right kit that will support the right systems and that that kit and the systems are protected, we can't get to where we are and we can't continue to go where we're going without the right infrastructure in place.

(Q: Would you recommend PS Tech?)

The saying is true. You know, you get what you pay for. You can, you know, pay pennies and get peanuts. I could have easily looked at it and gone, well, we can't afford that. Or I could easily looked and gone. Actually, if that load is taken off, me and my team are more efficient. Well, what is the opportunity that this then created?

You know. Don't just look at IT as something separate. Look at bringing it into your business and what it's going to do for your business. So to that end, yeah, I, I absolutely am incredibly grateful that we've got an IT partner that we can work with that are ethical as well, because that's incredibly important to the work we do and to who we are as an organisation, and that you can trust to just get stuff done and take the load off.

So yeah, I think why wouldn't we?
